Still a skeptic?

Don’t take our word for it. Read what other recent interns have said about their time at Mountain!

From the moment I arrived on Mountain’s campus, I felt like I was home. While there I not only learned how to better lead an effective children’s ministry, but I also experienced being a part of a staff that desired to help me grow in personal wholeness in Christ and integrity in ministry.

The semester at Mountain completely changed my view of ministry. I realized that God was calling me to a life of ministry, and Mountain gave me the confidence and experience to pursue it.

My semester at Mountain Christian Church changed my life! Although it was challenging learning new ministry skills and balancing class, the support from my supervisor and Semester in Ministry staff kept me afloat. Most importantly, my faith in Christ strengthened through the spiritual training we received from everyone. So in short, GO TO MOUNTAIN! You won’t regret it! 🙂

The Semester In Ministry Program was fantastic for me. I grew in every way imaginable from my experiences at Mountain and from my interactions with the staff at that church. It was a great way for me to get experience in many diverse areas of ministry that I otherwise would not have been able to try. The experience is immersive and by the end you will really feel like Mountain and the Bel Air area are a second home. You will go on retreats and trips with the Mountain staff (my group of interns was able to go to the 2012 Catalyst Conference in Atlanta) which will offer you new perspectives on the work of ministry. The host families are caring and generous to open their homes, and many times will provide meals for you and truly treat you like a member of the family. My semester at Mountain was definitely one of the best experiences of my college career, and I’d encourage any Milligan student to go. You will be challenged spiritually, emotionally, academically, and socially, but you will grow in such unexpected and wonderful ways. If you are considering joining the Semester In Ministry program, do it. If you put the work in, I promise it will be worth it.
